John Gaver Our friends over at ZapTheIRS.com have announced a national day of mourning, on July 12, 2009, to mourn 100 years of Tax Tyranny, in the USA.

They point out that the legislation that initiated the 16th Amendment process, was passed on July 12, 1909 and sent to the states for ratification. Although the 16th Amendment was not ratified until 1913, this date represents the beginning of a tax system that has led to more abuse of the American people, by their own government, than any other legislation in history (that is, until the Patriot Act).

So, in order to help folks remember this significant date, we have created the Tax Tyranny Clock web-widget, that you see to the left. This is a Flash web-widget that counts down the days to 100 Years of Tax Tyranny, eventually announcing "100 Years Plus!", when the national day of mourning arrives.

This clock may be placed on any web page. We invite you to remind visitors to your web site or blog about this upcoming landmark for tax tyranny. Simply copy the code in the box below, into the source code of your web page or blog and the widget will appear.

ActionAmerica. org will host this web widget until August 12, 2009 (one month after the national day of mourning). Just select all of the text in the following box and copy it (Ctrl–C on a PC or Cmd–C on a Mac).
